It was a great weekend of racing, with members racing at Belmar Tri/Du for Autism, Jersey Girl Triathlon and the Brigantine Triathlon.
Racing and on the podium at Brigantine was: Ross Felice - 3rd in the 45-49 AG Steve Kent - 2nd in the 50-54 AG Kate Matheson finished 45th overall out of a field of over 1050 at Jersey Girl this past Sunday. Also on Sunday was the Belmar Triathlon for Autism. Kevin beat me by 1 second there, at NJ State this year I returned the favor & beat him by 1 second. This past weekend Kevin brought his A+ effort & beat me by just over a minute. Congrats Kevin, too bad you're not doing SOS. Anthony Congratulations to all BCTC members that raced this past weekend!
On the podium at the Born To Tri in Asbury Park, NJ was Tom Dillon with a 1st place AG finish! Also, congratulations to Monica Baxter, Chuck DePalma, Stacey Farish and David Noa on finishing Ironman Lake Placid! Monica, Chuck, Stacey and David you are an Ironman! Great job! (Did we miss your results? please email us at membership@buckscotriclub.com) BCTC had nearly 50 members participate in this past weekends NJ State Triathlon. By far the largest & most competitive Sprint & Olympic distance triathlon in NJ. We may have not been the biggest club or the most "Pro" club, we were good enough for 3rd place. Congratulations to everyone who competed over the past weekend.
we really had some impressive performances: 1st timers -Carly Slutzky- Olympic -Jim Stein- Sprint -Jens Rosmus- Sprint Made the Podium -Alyson Thompson- 3rd place 30-35 in both Sprint & Olympic also won the double down award -Christine Mackrides- 1st place 45-49 Sprint & 3rd Olympic also won the double down award -Tammy Gould- 3rd place 35-39 Olympic -Ryan Matheson- 3rd place 35 -39 & 17th overall Sprint -Rev Rhodes- 1st place 60-65 Sprint -Tom Dillon- 3rd place 55-59 Sprint One of our clubs gutsiest performances came from Chris Thompson. Sometimes it takes a lot of courage just to take the starting line. Chris as he has stated in the past is not a triathlete and more over he is definitely not a non-wetsuit race triathlete. Well not only did Chris overcome all is open-water swim fears he did it with out the safety of his beloved wetsuit. I'm impressed & proud of your guts to overcome your deepest childhood fear & complete, very successfully I might add the 2013 NJ State Triathlon. This is our key club race of the season. I hope next year we can get the other 60 plus members to come out to NJ State & help us kick Mapso Tri & Philly Pro Tri's ass! Hope to see a good club turn out at the Belmar Tri for Autism on BCTC had another strong weekend at two local races the Vincentown Triathlon & at the Vice Versa Triathlon where we all did it backwards.
The Vice Versa was a very cool race in the very upscale town of Allenhurst, NJ. You had the choice to either run, bike then swim or doing a traditional swim, bike, run. Both races started at the same time and finished on the beach near the swim exit. Claire Daniels, Mark Eiler, Tom Dillon, Nelson Dunham & Anthony Accardo all did it backwards, running 1st & swimming last. And all did well & got on the podium! At Vincentown, Lisa Kall, Ryan & Kate Matheson all also made the podium in the triathlon, as did Johnny King-Marino and Cheryl King-Marino in the duathlon. Vice Versa Claire Daniels 1st place 50-54 Tom Dillon 2nd place 55-59 Mark Elier 3rd place 55-59 Nelson Dunham 1st place 60-65 Anthony Accardo 3rd place 40-44 Vincentown Triathlon: Lisa Kall 1st place 40-44 Kate Matheson 3rd place 35-39 Ryan Matheson 3rd place 35-39 Duathlon: Johnny King-Marino 5th overall male, 1st place 50-54 Cheryl King-Marino 3rd overall female Vice Versa results Vincentown results If you raced and had a result you would like to share, click comment to this post and tell us how you did or about the race.
