BCTC had nearly 50 members participate in this past weekends NJ State Triathlon. By far the largest & most competitive Sprint & Olympic distance triathlon in NJ. We may have not been the biggest club or the most "Pro" club, we were good enough for 3rd place. Congratulations to everyone who competed over the past weekend.
we really had some impressive performances: 1st timers -Carly Slutzky- Olympic -Jim Stein- Sprint -Jens Rosmus- Sprint Made the Podium -Alyson Thompson- 3rd place 30-35 in both Sprint & Olympic also won the double down award -Christine Mackrides- 1st place 45-49 Sprint & 3rd Olympic also won the double down award -Tammy Gould- 3rd place 35-39 Olympic -Ryan Matheson- 3rd place 35 -39 & 17th overall Sprint -Rev Rhodes- 1st place 60-65 Sprint -Tom Dillon- 3rd place 55-59 Sprint One of our clubs gutsiest performances came from Chris Thompson. Sometimes it takes a lot of courage just to take the starting line. Chris as he has stated in the past is not a triathlete and more over he is definitely not a non-wetsuit race triathlete. Well not only did Chris overcome all is open-water swim fears he did it with out the safety of his beloved wetsuit. I'm impressed & proud of your guts to overcome your deepest childhood fear & complete, very successfully I might add the 2013 NJ State Triathlon. This is our key club race of the season. I hope next year we can get the other 60 plus members to come out to NJ State & help us kick Mapso Tri & Philly Pro Tri's ass! Hope to see a good club turn out at the Belmar Tri for Autism on
