We are excited to announce the 2022 BCTC Feed the Beast race series. This years series registration is now open.
The series will start 4/7/22.

This year’s series has 6 races.  All live races with a new exciting race on Earth Day April 22nd.  The series kicks off with the Beast Mode 5K. All races except the Bike TT will be chip timed, more race details below:
Thursday 6:15pm, April 7th BCTC Beast Mode 5K- We plan to be back in Core Creek park.  If we get final approval we will race the same course as in 2021.  The course will be mostly paved trail with fields and a gorgeous lakeside trail section.

Friday 6pm, April 22nd  Earth Day 10K- This will be a new race in Washington Crossing Park NJ. The course will be mostly paved / gravel road with short single track & horse trails.  We had to change our plan of having a beer & wine garden in the park to having the festivities and awards at Patriots Crossing Tavern.  This is just a half mile from the start finish and allows us to celebrate Earth Day till the bar closes.  Each participant registering for the race will receive a beer ticket.  Also and for every 50 participant we will plant a tree in the park to celebrate Earth Day. This race will be open to non-BCTC members.  The race starts & ends at the visitor center with aid at mile 2 and 4. There will be a strict cut-off of 1 hour & 40 minutes. This race will be open to non-BCTC members.

Saturday 8am, May 7th BCTC Bike Time Trial- This is the 8 mile TT course we have done in the past along Rt.29 from Frenchtown to Bulls Island.

Wednesday 7pm, June 22nd Mile River Swim- This will be a live chip timed 1 mile swim with the current if the current is strong.  If not it will be an up & back swim with approximately 500 meters up river and 1100 meters with the current down.

Saturday 9am, July 2nd  Mountain Bike XC tournament- We’re back in Washington Crossing park with a kids course as well.  BTW The kids race is free to all children of Members. The race will take place near the camp sites in Washington Crossing park on the NJ side.  Participants will complete in heats of 4 riders on the 2 mile loop consisting of fields, with sections of single track with a few features and a climb.  The Kids course will be 1 mile exclusively on fields.  You may ride the course up to 4 times to post your best time with the 4 best times competing in the championship heat for overall top 3 male & female.  This was one of the most fun races in the series.  You do not need to be an experienced Mountain biker to compete.

Saturday 8am, August 13th  BCTC D.R.R. Duathlon Sprint & Half
Now Live Virtual
– D.R.R. stands for the Delaware River Ramble.  The race is now a live virtual event. We will mark the course by Friday.  You will have all day Saturday to complete the course and upload your results.  There will be a several officers racing the course 8am Saturday 8/12 at The Bulls Island Rec area and showcases the beauty of the Delaware river valley.  For the Sprint both Runs will be 3 miles, out & back on the canal path.  The Sprint bike will be 15 rolling miles along Rt 29.  For the Half we will race the same course we did in 2021.  The first run will be 3 miles on the canal path.  The 51 mile 2 loop bike course really shows off the beauty of the Delaware river valley featuring a challenging climb up Federal Twist.

The rest of the course rolls along Rt 29. We thought you might need a break from the hill so we kept the 2nd 10 mile run on the canal path where you will have aid at the 5 mile turn-around. We plan to have this race USAT sanctioned and be open to non-BCTC members.
The FTB series is open to BCTC members / family members.  New this year non- members will have the option to race the Earth Day 10K & the DRR Duathlon.  Awards for top 3 males and females will be given for each event with an overall male & female champion as well as masters champions will be crowned at the end of the series.
The series will be scored as follows: Top 10 males and females score in each live race with 10 points for  1st place, 9 points for 2nd and so on to 1 point for 10th place.  Top Male & Female in points win the series.
