Goals/Races in 2013: Survive my very first Ironman & HIM both in 2013- San Juan 70.3 in March and Arizona in November, and hopefully a PR in a sprint Tri this summer - as a relative "newbie" I still feel like I have a huge amount of room for improvement each race
Currently on my iPod: my playlist is all over the map from Swedish House Mafia to Bruce Springsteen to County Music - tons of 80's music and even a little Milli Vanilli
Little known fact about me: I'm a very superstitious and quirky racer. For example, my training runs/rides are always in loops. I don't like to cover the same ground twice! I also always run on the left side of the road or path.
Favorite Race: LBI sprint triathlon - LBI, NJ. I love LBI and it always feels like home to me since this race was where I did my very first tri/du ever. And the Nike Women's Marathon in SF where finishers get Tiffany's necklaces handed out by firemen in tuxedos - a racing girl's dream!
Favorite Result: 2nd place AG at Hightstown Triathlon 2012. But still striving for the perfect race - will let you know if I get one
Favorite thing when not racing: Spend time with my kids and family, and time at the shore.
Why I race: I stumbled into triathlon and absolutely fell in love with the sport. I have three kids, have had two knee surgeries and am 2 yrs out from thyroid tumor. Racing and training is a huge challenge for me and never comes easy. But because of this every race finish comes with an enormous sense of accomplishment.
